I have been thinking a lot about the blog that Vicki posted about being in-between. I have really felt that a lot lately. I was accepted in December to go to Africa. It’s been 5 months since then. I have been very anxious. For a long time it was all I spoke of, don’t get me wrong I still talk a lot about it. People are always asking me questions about it and stuff. Which I love. But I have realized that I have been getting so caught up in other things like shchool and friends, and the musical I’m in lately. I mean this kind of thing is bound to happen the last month of your senior year, graduation makes life hectic. But I need to make sure that I am still keeping time for God. I usually read my bible every night before I go to bed, but lately I get home from practice and am so tired that I’ve been going to bed right away. I know God understands and doesn’t want me to be so stressed. But I need to find time to just be with him and read my bible/pray more throughout my day.

I was thinking about this yesterday, and I read the thing Vicki posted about getting 4-5 people who will pray for you everyday and that you can keep in contact with. I know many people who have told me that they are praying for me, but a lot of them are people I do not speak to everyday. So yesterday my friend Jackie came to pick me up to go to musical rehearsal. I said something about Africa and it made me think of the prayer thing. I feel really comfortable talking with Jackie and I thought she would be a good person to pray for me, and to keep me accountable. It was sweet, before I even asked her she offered to pray for me. This morning she told me that she prayed for me last night and it is true, it does feel good and makes you feel comforted knowing that someone is praying for me and my trip, not just me praying for myself.

Also, please pray that I find time this week to write my Update support letter, and finish up my thank you letters. I have gotten a little behind on this.
Jackie and IThis is Jackie!

I still need more people that will do this for me. I am trusting that God will provide me with these people.

  1. Beautiful prom pictures!!! You all look so amazing! Makes me want to go to prom again (though I am way too old now lol). Just think, only 4 more months until all of us FYM’ers go! I know it feels like a long time but it is going to fly by. Keep praying, don’t be afraid to ask others for prayer and praise God for these people. You will get it all done-it always gets done! Don’t feel guilty, just make the most of your days right now!

  2. ABBY! You looked so beautiful at prom! You don’t need anyone! We all think here that you looked like princess Barbie! You looked amazing! I’m so happy that you are going to Africa and I 100% support you going. I really wish I could donate, but I’m broke! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and may God bless you when you go! I love you and I think you are amazing for doing this.
God bless you where ever the road leads you.
