It is the day after Thanksgiving and it feels nothing like it actually. We had a great dinner, but being in Africa made it so different. When I think of Thanksgiving, I think of snow, and family and decorations everywhere, a warm homey feeling. Sitting on the porch, playing games, the football game playing in the background. So yesterday was definitely a different experience. We all got dressed up and left about noon. They didn’t tell us where we were going so we didn’t really know what to expect. An hour or so later we pulled into the main city part of Pretoria, where we have never been before. It was probably the first place that really slightly resembled the cities in America. Random huge office buildings, mixed in with small street shops, and huge yards in front of embassies. We went to a place called IMAGE. It was a restaurant and deli, fancy, fancy, fancy. There were tables set up outside, under a bright white tent with white table clothes and all. There were about 100 people in all, and we sat at tables of around 10. We got a pretty American Thanksgiving. Salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, turkey and stuffing, pumpkin and apple pie. It was great. It was all given to us by a girls father on the Swaziland real life team.

It was a great day to give thanks to God. I hope you all had a great holiday too.
