I wrote this October 12-17- ENJOY lol
We are once again in South Africa.
We arrived here on Monday night. Since then, I have been doing ministry in
Atteridgeville everyday. It’s a township on a mountain about 5 minutes away
from where we live. There was a group of about 6 of us that went on Tuesday.
Denise, Davey and I climbed all the way to the top of the mountain, it was so
beautiful. You could see the whole town from where we were. We sat up there and
prayed and worshipped. Then we spent the rest of the day in the cresh, with the
grade zero children. For the next 2 days we had a Bible study with a man named
France and 2 of his friends. It was great to help him learn more about God and
his word. We also went back to the cresh everyday, we read to the kids and sang
a ton of songs, and taught them rhymes.
This
week our morning sessions are on Spiritual Warfare. We have been learning truths about it:
- We are not fighting for Victory, we are fighting from victory
- We are in an invisible war
- There is an invisible world
We have been
reading many passages about who satan is, and how he wants to attack us. And
how we can fight against it with the armor that God has given us.
Here are just
some main points we covered, that I learned a lot from.
When will the
enemy attack?
·
When you are growing spiritually
·
When we are invading the enemies territory
·
When you expose the enemy himself
·
When you repent and are wiped clean of a worldly sin
·
When God is preparing to do something great in your life
We have been
studying in depth Ephesians 6- On what the armor of God means and how to apply
it to our lives.
·
We use the belt of truth to
fight the lies of the enemy.
·
We use the breastplate of righteousness,
to protect our hearts from satans condemnation.
·
We use the Gospel of peace, to
be ready to share the word of God at all times
·
Shield of Faith to protect and
give confidence.—–Faith= Absolute confidence in: Gods Plans, Gods word, and
Gods character.
·
Helmet of salvation- our mind
is the enemy’s battle field, it is his playground. He tries to attack our
minds.
·
Then the sword of truth which
is the Bible.
That is just some of what I have been
learning. I miss you all and please keep praying for my team. Jeffery’s Bay
leaves in the morning. And please pray that God will show us where the rest of
us need to go. GOD BLESS

It is Saturday and it
is beautiful here at the Dam. We came to Ifafi for the day. We went shopping at
a cultural market and my friends Kristen, Ben and I decided we were going to
walk to the Dam and see the waterfall and have some quiet time. It was about a
2 mile walk there and back. It was a beautiful view, but when we got there they
had already closed the gates to be able to walk down to the water. We were so
sad. We ended up trying to do some hiking, but then some man told us there were
snakes where we were and I freaked out and made us turn around. Ben found the
skeleton of a poisonous spider, and made us carry it back in my backpack loll
We are now sitting at a restaurant called Maxis getting some lunch.
Saturday
night we had movie night, where we watched a variety of different movies that
were shot in Africa, then we write a
reflection of our time here compared to the movies.and new things we may have
learned.
Sunday morning we had a church service here
at Alabanza. I then had a relaxing day hand washing all of my clothes and such.
It hard work but it pays to have clean clothes I guess.

It is now Wednesday night; I have had a
great week of ministry so far. I have still been going to Atteridgeville
everyday. It’s been awesome; we now go to ministry from 11-5 instead of 1-5 so
we have more time to spend with people. The last 3 days have been really
encouraging. I have been building many relationships at the cresh and with a
man named France
that we are doing a bible study with. On Monday I wasn’t feeling very good
because of the heat so I didn’t do much, but I spent most of the day with the
kids at the cresh singing songs and then I walked with some of my team mates
around town just talking and sharing with people on the street.
On Tuesday, I spent a good amount of time
with the women that work at the cresh. I did a New Testament study with one of
the ladies who have to read the gospels for school. That was really cool. I
then helped make lunch for the children and got to feed a little boy.
A total God thing happened today with a
women Martha at the cresh. She had been telling me yesterday that she was very
discouraged because she has been gardening to feed the children because they
don’t have the money to buy enough vegetables, and now she said she was having
trouble affording seeds. So last night I was talking to some of my team at
dinner about it, and Ben said that he had bought seeds at the store a couple
weeks earlier just because he felt God saying he should. So Ben gave me those
seeds and today I helped her plant a garden. I am so excited to see it grow.
