Fellowship of the Unashamed
(An African Martyr’s Last Words)

I am a part of the
“Fellowsihp of the Unashamed.” The die has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made.
I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and
my future is secure.

I’m finished

and done with low living, sight walking,
small planning, smooth knees,
colorless dreams, tame visions, mundane talking, cheap giving, and
dwarfed goals.

My pace is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven, my road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions few, my guide reliable,
my mission clear.

I won’t give up, back up, let up or shut up until I’ve preached up, prayed up and paid up, stored up, and stayed up for the
cause of Christ.
I must go until He returns, give until I drop, preach until all I know, and work until He comes.

And when He come to get His own, He will have no problem recognizing me. My colors will be clear.
” For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ” ( Romans 1:16)

Be part of the Fellowship of the Unashamed. It is the only way to live this life.
Remember this: To be a missionary you don’t have to cross the sea, you just have to see the cross.

~ This is from a book called
The one thing you Can’t do in Heaven– by: Mark Cahill

  1. This is found in Mark Cahill’s book, but it is actually the last words of an African Martyr. You can find the original on page 150 of ‘Voice of the Martyrs’. God bless.

  2. What a great quote, “To be a missionary you don’t have to cross the sea, you just have to see the cross.” So true. If we were to truely see the cross, how would we be different then we are right now?

  3. Wow this is a great article- and it’s so true . Thank you for the encouragement this morning.

  4. Abby,
This made me realize how much more I, MYSELF could be doing with my life. I envy your courage and passion… I want that fire you have burning inside you. I love you! Thanks for teaching me more about who I want to be through Christ’s love!

  5. hmm, it inspires your heart to read that! I wrote a paper for my New Testament Class this weekend on the life of Stephen. Living the life of someone who one day may truely be a martyer is hard, but its PASSION, its life when the world is screaming death, its love in the end when you give it all up for the sake of that cross

blazing… I feel thats how we will be next year in Africa!
