Everything may be bigger in Texas…
I got back on Sunday from helping Craig and Abbey lead a trip in Winnie, Texas. We had groups from Nebraska and Nevada. They did a lof of ministry at a school in High Island, and did a lot of hurricane debris pick up at a man named Claud’s house. After the trip we got to spend a weekend off in Houston. I got a tattoo, went shopping at the Gallerica mall, and went to my first Astros game. After a long and hot drive, Emily, Abbey and I got back to Mexico late Sunday night.I don’t have a group to lead, so it’s going to be a much needed week of rest, and hopefully time to do my own ministry. The first night off I got I slept for 14 hours straight, looks like I needed some shut eye. I love being back in Mexico, it’s crazy how close we are to the border, but it’s even crazier how different it is just one mile across each border. I love the feeling I get when I cross the border back into Mexico, it’s just less hectic than America. Everything may be bigger in TX, but I like the smallness and simplicity of Mexico. One thing I noticed that night coming back into Mexico was the lack of street lights on the highway. You honestly need night vision to drive at night here.
These past few days have been great getting to hang out with Craig, Abbey and Emily who also have the week off. We were able to drive to South Padre Island yesterday and chill at the beach. then met our leaders and their families for a nice dinner, and rented some movies. Today we’ve been running errands and I stopped at the local McDonalds( where I’m writing from right now) to get faster internet…. BUT we were wrong it is not faster.
Pray for our transportation issues, our trucks have been breaking down and having too many problems these days.
I’m also in charge of updating the Mexico and Texas blogs this summer: Check em out.
