I just received a birthday card from a man who goes to my church, his name is Harry. This card meant a lot to me because he is always so encouraging. Reading his letter helped me to remember that I need to put everything in God’s hands. I have been stressing a lot over money and preperation for this trip, because I don’t feel organized at all. I am the type of person that likes to be organized and keep a schedule, it makes me feel better. Preparing for this trip is teaching me patience, and it making me rely so much more on God, which is obviously what I should always do. Just this morning I was freaking out to my mom that I felt guilty for spending so much money on myself just to go to Prom. Everytime I spend money on something like Prom, or other luxury things for myself, I always think about Africa and how I could put the money to better use. But I have to remember that God will provide, and I can’t stop living just because I think I know whats best. God will provide what I need, in his own time. I don’t need to worry about it so much. Harry quoted a few verses in his letter to me that I would like to share with you all, because they really encouraged me, and for those of you on a team yourselves I think you would really enjoy them too:
I pray that God’s kingdom will be yours forever, His glory your goal, and His power your strength. Please read and believe in all your heart these scriptures verses- Psalm 62:5-8
and Matthew 5:16 In the same way ,let your light shine, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Thanks Harry.
